Families & Children

BitF is an all-ages event and enthusiastically welcomes families and children under 18 years of age. Bringing children to BitF presents unique challenges, so please take extra care to prepare for the experience and ensure your children have a safe and magical experience.

Safety

Do not leave children unattended. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a sober parent or legal guardian AT ALL TIMES. Be aware there may be subject matter inappropriate for minors. Do not expect the community to censor their behaviour or watch over your children.

Take your child on a tour of the BitF site soon after you arrive to familiarize them with the lay of the land, including location of the Rangers station and how to find your campsite.

Terrain & Climate

Wildlife

Understand that many wild animals call our new venue home including bears and cougars. Both have been known to prey on children. Small children should not be much further than arm’s reach from a sober adult, especially at the extremities of our venue. Immediately pick-up small children if a predator is sighted.
